The Peter Joseph Lenné Prize 2012, is the world’s largest competition of ideas for young horticultural and landscape architects, landscape planners, scientists, architects and artists.

Organised by the state of Berlin. Candidates may be studying these disciplines or already working in them. The project is initiated by the Senate Department for Urban Development and Environment. The prize plays a key role in developing new ideas in design, planning and use of plants in horticultural architecture and landscape planning as well as promoting the careers of young planners and designers. The work focuses on illustrated depictions. Work is assessed on an anonymous basis.

Each candidate must submit two draft plans on paper in the required DIN A0 format and one CD containing printable versions of both
plans as pdf and jpeg. The work must be submitted in German. English is also accepted.

For each task, an independent jury will decide which solutions will be awarded the Peter Joseph Lenné Prize.

The winners will be awarded their prizes at a ceremony in November 2012 at Berlin’s Akademie der Künste. A selection of work will be exhibited in Berlin. The results of the process and illustrations of the best and most interesting work will be published in a document.

– 5,000 € in each of the categories
– 1,500 € special mentions
