Article 03, paisea 019. The fertile city | Alex Puig Coll. Vivers Ter, S.A.

The city has all the components that are needed to fertilise enormous areas of green space.

For example, Tel Aviv fertilises hundreds of hectares of the Negev. Israel has always had to rationalise all its resources and from the experiences of this country we know that 75% of blackwater can be reused.

When something as common as water begins to become scarce, it makes us wonder whether construction cranes can really be seen as an element of progress.

Our productive society needs to change its methods. We need to generate green mass, renovate buildings by incorporating renewable energy sources, live from recycling rather than from extraction, make as many of our short journeys as we can by bicycle, and our long journeys by public transport, or at least clean cars (pollutants should be a symbol of social rejection rather than of prestige). We should try to obtain heavy materials from the nearest place possible and base our diet on cereal rather than animal protein.
