Vegetation in the landscape
Vegetation and rock formations are the basic components of natural landscapes, which in the perception of a landscape are accompanied by complementary elements such as light conditions, cloud cover, water or geomorphology. Landscapes do, though, undergo transformations, normally as a result of the actions of man, often related to the traditions and culture of the area – some of these changes are mild, while others are violent and destructive. These human actions on landscapes introduce accessory elements like crops, buildings or animals (cattle farming). This combination of the natural and man-made, of the perceptible and the hidden, forms the basis for the variety of landscapes that can be contemplated anywhere in the world.
