To explore some of the features of cyclical and sequential changes to vegetation, and how they might be used as a project tool or strategy. – that is the purpose of these lines.

If we look at the landscape in a certain way, differentiating between its biotic and inert ‘components’, we can see that while the first group grow, spread, die, reappear, succeed one another and mutate with the seasons,… the second group do not have their own dynamism and do not change. Inert material is already in its definitive state when a work is inaugurated, qualifying the project from the first instance and guaranteeing a certain order, form and functionality (f1-2). By contrast, the vegetation is in a phase of establishment and needs time and the necessary conditions to develop and go through its relentless process of transformation and transience (f2-3). The fourth dimension, ‘time’, acts in different ways on the inert and the living, turning the space into a more or less dynamic, functional or evocative experience… Then…
